WASHINGTON, UTAH - In-N-Out Burger broke ground in December for their first Utah restaurant in Washington City. The privately owned family business selected a lot in the Telegraph Marketplace development on the northeast corner of Telegraph Street and Green Spring Drive and will soon be opening Utah’s first restaurant to join the In-N-Out Burger chain. Jim McGuire, the City’s Economic Development Director, said that it is fitting that of all the locations In-N-Out Burger could have selected, they selected Washington City, the place where Utah’s “Dixie Begins.” In 1948, In-N-Out Burger founders Harry and Esther Snyder opened the first California drive-thru hamburger stand in Baldwin Park. In keeping with their business philosophy to “give customers the freshest, highest quality foods you can buy and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling clean environment,” there are no microwave ovens or freezers in the restaurants. Their hamburgers are made fresh from 100% pure beef with no additives, fillers or preservatives. Their french fries are made from hand-diced whole potatoes and their milk shakes are made from real ice cream. There are 213 In-N-Out Burger restaurants in operation in California, Nevada and Arizona, and four restaurants are currently under construction; one of which is at the Washington City location. “We have been in contact with In-N-Out Burger for the last several years and are proud to have been their choice of cities, and we have been anxiously looking forward to this time,” stated McGuire. The Washington City restaurant should be opening sometime in May 2008.
