Washington City Youth Council

The Washington City Youth Council (WCYC) is a youth leadership group in Washington City that is training the civic the leaders of tomorrow.

WCYC was established in 2010 under Mayor Kenneth Neilson. Carmen Snow is the Youth Council Director and Councilman Kurt Ivie is the Council Representative. We are a very active council. Last year we helped with the restoration of the Historical Covington Mansion, started the Trick or Treat there and also entertained the community by hosting Santa Claus at the Covington Mansion during Christmas in Dixie. We chaired the Veterans Day parade and supported all parades in Washington County. We are volunteering at almost every city event. Most times serve food, collect tickets, etc.

WCYC meets twice a month. Our meetings are run by Roberts Rule of Order. We are a dynamic City Council representing the youth. We hold elections, follow bills that effect youth, attend legislative day at the State Capitol and speak up for youth. Come have fun, learn and participate along with us every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Historical Covington Home.
