Population Up. Water Use Down.

Washington County Population Up. Water Use Down. High fives, water-saving friends! We have increased our population and become the fastest growing region in the nation, but we have decreased our water use by more than 1 billion gallons. The Washington County Water Conservancy District and its municipal partners, including Washington City, have invested more than $60 million in water system infrastructure improvements, rebate programs and other conservation efforts. Water conservation is an essential part of our water supply plan for southern Utah. In a year like this – with our sole source of water, the Virgin River basin, flowing at only 20 percent of normal – it’s essential we use water as efficiently as possible. Please join us in celebrating our water use reductions, do more to conserve and encourage others to do the same. Visit wcwcd.org for more information and water conservation tips.
