Council Meeting

Councilman Jeff Turek was excused.

DECLARATION OF ABSTENTIONS & CONFLICTS:

None.

ALCOHOL LICENSE:  

City Council approved the Freeway Chevron Off­-Premise Licenses.

YOUTH COUNCIL:

Youth Council presented Councilman Belliston with an appreciation gift for his years of service with them.

Washington City Youth Council gave an update report on their trip to the Utah Legislative Session.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Steven Hooper / REO Mt. Running Events requested the consideration to approve a Special Event for the “Southern Utah Half Marathon”, to be held on April 14th. The City Council approved unanimously.

Allexus Villegas requested the consideration to approve a Special Event for the Allexus Villegas Wedding to be held on October 15th at the Nisson Park. The City Council approved unanimously.

PRELIMINARY PLAT:

Stewart Shumway requested the consideration to approve a Preliminary Plat for Hawkeye Pointe Subdivision, located at approximately 3650 South 20 East.  The City Council approved unanimously.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

Doug Dennett requested a Public Hearing for consideration to approve a General Plan Amendment G-18-01, to change the land use designation from (OS) Open Space to (LD) Low Density, located at approximately 1100 East 3400 South.  

Administrative Service Director Kimberly Ruesch requested a Public Hearing for consideration to adopt a Resolution to open and amend the Washington City 2017/2018 Fiscal Year Budget for the funds of Washington City.

The Public Hearing took place and a decision will be made in two weeks. (3/14/18)

ORDINANCES:

Mike Staheli requested the consideration to approve an Ordinance granting Zone Change request Z-18-02, to change the zoning designation for Residential Agricultural 1-acre lots (RA-1) to Single Family 12,000 sq. ft. lots (R-1-12), located at 3090 South 515 West. The City Council approved 3 to 1.

RESOLUTION:

Administrative Service Director Kimberly Ruesch requested the consideration to approve a Resolution amending the 2017-2018 Fiscal Year Budget. The City Council approved unanimously.

AMENDMENT - PRELIMINARY PLAT CONDITIONS:

GTS requested the consideration to Amend/Change a Condition to the Preliminary Plat for Shooting Star Subdivision regarding “A Geotechnical Representative MUST BE ONSITE continuously during all grading and trenching operations as required in the Geotech Report.”. The City Council unanimously voted to table this item for two weeks. (3/14/18)

APPEAL PUBLIC WORKS:

Ameen & Molly Shaheen requested the consideration to appeal Staff decision to not allow an additional drive approach according to the Access Management Plan and the conditions of the Country Way Estates subdivision, the property is located at 958 S. Country Lane. The City Council voted to approve 3 to 1 with conditions.

PUBLIC WORKS:

Public Works Director Mike Shaw presented the Municipal Wastewater Planning Program (MWPP) Annual Report 2018.
