Golden Tree

The Goldenrain Tree is one of the few trees that produces yellow flowers. It is an excellent shade tree, known for its neat habit and well-behaved root system. The tree grows easily and well in a wide variety of soils. It lends grace and charm to the landscape throughout the entire year - rare yellow tree blossoms in the late spring and summer, graceful paper lanterns dangling from the branches in autumn and winter. The pods have seeds in them and when the wind blows they make the sound of rain falling. They are hardy, thriving in the tough environment and an astonishingly wide range of soil conditions. This tree grows at a medium to fast rate, with a height increases of anywhere from 13” to more than 24” a year. Full sun is the ideal condition for this tree. It makes an excellent street tree, and is good for planting near utility lines and paved surfaces. Has a lifespan of around 50 years. An example of this tree can be seen at 300 East Joshua Circle.
