Gardening Tips

With the seasons changing and temperatures lowering here are a few tips on what you can do to prepare your yard and garden during the cooler fall weather.

1. Plant ground covers before Oct. 15th.

2. Water lawn 1” per week, if needed.

3. Good time for tree and shrub planting.

4. To protect roses from frost, prune overly long rose cases by half.

5. Select healthy bulbs for a beautiful spring garden at your local nursery.

6. Fertilize lawn, Fall feeding is the most important of the year. 

7. Pansies do best if planted in the fall.

8. Mow lawn short for winter.

9. Have your sprinkler system drained.

10. Let sprinkler clock run a full cycle after water is shut off for the winter.
