Suntran Transportation

Washington City is reaching a new milestone. Starting approximately in March or April, the Suntran bus system will be extending a new route into our city. This service has long been anticipated. Washington City officials recognized many years ago the unavailability of adequate transportation for many of our citizens. Public officials worked tirelessly to secure funding to resolve these transportation needs but, to date, have been unsuccessful. We express our sincere appreciation to the Washington County Commission for adopting the transit tax that allows for this expansion into our community. We also want to thank our good neighbor, St. George City. They have worked with us for many years in helping us reach this goal, including buying a bus in a timely manner. The city will be developing a web page soon on washingtoncity.org, where you can get more information. Once operations commence, the city will continually solicit input from Suntran patrons and the public on improvements to routes and services. We anticipate that this will be the first of many bus routes for our citizens. As Washington City continues to grow so does the need for services to meet our diverse and expanding population.
