Council Meeting

March 27th, 2019

1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

The Washington City Council approved the agenda unanimously.      

2. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Mayor Neilson wanted to congratulate Lt. Williams who has been asked to be Chief Williams, starting April 1st. We will honor our outgoing Chief with a little get “together” celebration tomorrow, March 28th.

Jason will be made the official Police Chief Monday at 11 AM in the Council Chambers.

3. DECLARATION OF ABSTENTIONS & CONFLICTS

None

4. CONSENT AGENDA

The Washington City Council approved the consent agenda as detailed below unanimously.

a. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  

Consideration to approve the minutes from the City Council Meeting of 1/25/19, 2/12/19, 3/12/19 and 3/13/19  

b. SPECIAL EVENT:

i. Consideration to approve a Special Event for the Calvary Chapel Picnic, to be held at the Sullivan Virgin River Soccer Park.  Applicant:  Steve Harrie

ii. Consideration to approve a Special Event for Washington Fields 9th Ward, Easter Egg Hunt at the Pine View Park.  Applicant:  Rebecca Udy

5. AWARD OF BID

a. Consideration to award the bid for the 2019 Slurry Seal Project.  Public Works Director Mike Shaw. The Washington City Council approved the award of the bid unanimously.

6. PRELIMINARY PLAT

a. Consideration to approve a Preliminary Plat for the Arroyo at Sienna Hills, Phases 8 and 9 subdivision, located at approximately Grapevine Crossing and Sandy Talus Drive.  Applicant:  Jim Raines, Brennan Holdings No. 100 LLC. The Washington City Council approved unanimously.

b. Consideration to approve a Preliminary Plat for the Southern Vistas, located at approximately 4200 South Washington Fields Road. Applicant:  Newman Investments LLC. The Washington City Council approved unanimously with additions.

7. PLAT AMENDMENTS

a. Consideration to approve a Plat Amendment for Ladera at Sienna Hills, Phase 1 Amended subdivision, located at approximately Sandy Talus Drive and Ladera Drive. Applicant:  Jim Raines, Brennan Holdings No. 100 LLC. The Washington City Council approved unanimously.

8. MINOR SUBDIVISION

a. Consideration to approve a Minor Subdivision for the Rosewood Minor Subdivision, located at approximately 150 West 100 North.  Applicant: Ryan Anderson, High Bar Investments. The Washington City Council approved unanimously.

9. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

a. Discussion and consideration to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between Brio and Washington City on the Debri Basin.  Public Works Director Mike Shaw. The Washington City Council approved unanimously.

10. REPORT OF OFFICERS FROM ASSIGNED COMMITTEE

None to report

11. CITY MANAGER REPORT

Schedule an Open House to discuss the cross section of Main Street in the chamber on April 4th from 5-7pm.

12. CLOSED SESSION

Discuss the purchase, exchange or lease of the property.
