City Council Regular Meeting February 8, 2017

MIDTERM APPOINTMENT:

Interviews and voting took place for a MidTerm Appointment to fill the City Council vacancy. Mayor Neilson and Council Members chose Kurt Ivie to fill the position.

SPECIAL EVENT:

Steven B Hooper, Red Mountain Running requested a Special Event Permit for the Southern Utah Half Marathon, to be held at the Highland Park and Virgin River Trail on April 22, 2017. Council approved unanimously.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

All Public Hearings were held and a decision will be made in 2 weeks, during the February 22nd Regular Meeting.

Western States Ventures SG LLC., Walter Plumb requested a Public Hearing for consideration to approve Zone Change request Z-17-02 to change the zoning designation from Open Space (OS) to Residential Single Family 10,000 sq.ft. Lots (R-1-10), located approximately 1300 East 1800 South.

Western States Ventures SG LLC., Walter Plumb requested a Public Hearing for consideration to approve Zone Change request Z-17-05 to change the zoning designation from Open Space (OS) to Residential Single Family 12,000 sq.ft. Lots (R-1-12), located approximately 1300 East 1800 South.

Vida Sol Communities, Anthony Bocchinno requested a Public Hearing for consideration to approve Zone Change request Z-17-03 to change the zoning designation from Multiple Family Residential (R-3) to Residential Rental, Short Term Overlay Zone, located approximately 450 North 1200 East.

King J LLC, Dalton Barlow requested a Public Hearing for consideration to approve Zone Change request Z-17-04 to change the zoning designation from Multiple Family Residential (R-3) to Residential Rental, Short Term Overlay Zone, located approximately 500 North 1100 East.

ORDINANCES:

Craig Engel requested a Consideration to approve an Ordinance approving a Zone Change request Z-17-01, to change the zoning designation from Residential Single Family 6,000 sq. ft. lots (R-1-6) to a Planned Unit Development (PUD), located at approximately 475 North 100 East. Council approved unanimously.

RESOLUTIONS:

Five Co Assoc. Governments requested the consideration to approve a Resolution adopting the Five County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan 2017-2020. Council tabled until next meeting. Feb 22nd.

POWER:

Director of Power Kelly Carlson requested the consideration to approve a 3-Year Rate Design Power Study, conducted by Utility Financial Solutions. Council approved unanimously.

Director of Power Kelly Carlson requested the consideration to approve a Resolution amending Electrical System Usage Charges. Council approved unanimously with conditions
