Pioneer Day Celebration

Thank You

**(Note: This celebration is not put on by Washington City)

I have received many congratulations on the 24th Washington Pioneer Day celebration. There were so many others who should be thanked as they did all the work to pull it together. A big “Thank You for your help!” goes to Bonnie Vorhies who organized the entertainment and to Julie Jorgensen who organized the parade while dealing with a son returning home and a wedding, and to Burke Staheli who organized the games and worked to get other areas of the community involved, and to Kimberly Ruesch who helped with the details and made sure we knew what we were doing, and to Rod Ohwiler getting the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to help with booths. A special thanks to Mayor Ken Neilson for supporting and helping to transition this into a community celebration. A big “Thank You!” to a kind and loving Heavenly Father who answered the prayers for things to come together to have a 24th Celebration. As we look to next year, we need more members of the community involved. The Washington City Pioneer Day Celebration is now a community event. We hope all community areas of Washington City become involved with parade entries by families, churches, other wards and stakes, and other surrounding cities. Booths from community members, church groups, and individuals providing inexpensive family fun. Entertainment showcasing the talent we have in our area. It will be a celebration of everything that makes Washington City a great place to live. Thank you to all who came out and supported the event. As we continue to improve, we hope you, as a member of this community, will become involved and help make it one of the areas premiere events.
