City Manager Holiday Message

We want to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

On behalf of myself and all of the staff here at Washington City, we want to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! We have been privileged to serve and be a part of this community throughout this past year. We know the greatness of Washington City is not in the community parks, buildings, or monuments, but the strength of our community lies in the individual lives of goodness found in each of our citizens, young and old. The greatness of the Christmas season is that we are often a little more sensitive to the good that we can provide to our friends and neighbors. Nothing sums it up better than this line, "apart from the veneration due to its sacred name and origin, if anything belonging to it can be apart from that—as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys” (A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens).
