Start your day at Staheli Family Farm and run the DogTown half-marathon course in reverse. At the top of the course, you will join the rest of the half-marathon racers in your return trip to Staheli Family Farm. In order to complete the dare, you must arrive at the half-marathon start line by 7:55a to start your return trip by 8:00a.
Dare participants must be able to support themselves on their first leg to the start line. They must also check-in at Staheli Family Farm with a high-visibility, reflective vest and head lamp before beginning their first leg. Participants are responsible for acquiring their own equipment. Participants not having the required equipment will not be allowed to start. Participants can start their run at Staheli Family Farm any time between 5:00a and 6:00a. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST CHECK-IN with the Dare Volunteer prior to starting. No participants will be allowed to start after 6:00a. The course from Staheli Family Farm to the start line is open to traffic and NOT maintained by volunteers and aid stations. Participants must be prepared to support themselves.
All Dare participants will have VIP benefits for the event. There will be two VIP areas for participants at the start line and at Staheli Family Farm. These areas will be in and around the Camping World Motorhome. These areas will be limited to Dare participants and sponsors and will allow you to stay warm and refuel. Dare participants can check-in their drop bags in the morning at Staheli Family Farm with a Dare volunteer. Their bags will stay in the Motorhome and be available at both the start line and Staheli Farm. Dare participants will not begin their return trip to Staheli Family Farm until the official start of the half marathon at 8:00am, so participants should plan to have clothing and other items to help them stay warm after their initial run to the start line.
Participants will be timed by gun on their run to the start line and will be chip timed on their return to Staheli Family Farm. Remember, this is NOT a race. It is a challenge we want you to complete, but we will have timing information available to you via RaceDay Timing.
All finishers of the Dare will receive all the half-marathon goodies and finishers medal PLUS, access to a VIP area at the start line and Staheli Family Farm, extra sponsor swag and an additional Double Dog Dare Finishers Medal.
The Dare is limited to 50 participants in 2018. Cost is $75 per person.
