NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

Notice is being given that the Washington City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., or shortly thereafter, for the purpose of consideration of a Boundary Line Adjustment.  Washington City Council has adopted Resolution R2021-07 declaring the intent to adjust the common municipal boundary line between the City of St. George and Washington City.  The purpose for the proposed adjustment is to create a 16.5 foot wide utility easement along a proposed roadway near the intersection of Harvest Lane and Merrill Road, the adjusted area containing approximately 0.64 acres.  It is proposed that the adjusted property would be moved from Washington City and the same property would be added to the City of St. George. The property owner is Property Reserve, Inc.  

The Washington City Council will adjust the boundaries unless, at or before the public hearing received a written protest to the adjustment is filed by:

  1. An owner of  private real property that is located within the area proposed for adjustment;
  2. Covers at least 25% of the total private land area within the area proposed for adjustment; and
  3. Is equal in value to at least 15% of the value of all private real property within the area proposed for adjustment; or
  4. A title holder of state-owned real property described above.

The subject area of the boundary adjustment will be automatically annexed to local fire protection, paramedic, and emergency services or law enforcement services as the case may be.
