All Building Permit applications and plans are submitted, reviewed and permitted online through City Inspect. Please be advised: Pursuant to current code adopted by the State of Utah, New Single Family Residential permits will be reviewed for approval or provided correction comments within 14 business days of being accepted into plan review status [from SUBM to PLAN] with a complete application after initial submittal review. All other permits will be reviewed in the order they are received into our queue. Please review this code reference for any questions, and contact the Building Department for any concerns prior to submitting for a building permit.
If you are already registered for the Washington City Cityinspect system, click on the link below to begin application.

Please review the permit application instructions from the list below for the specific type of building permit which is being applied for before you submit your online application.
For New Commercial, and New Single Family permits, this application process has recently changed. All reviews are now completed as a PACKET REVIEW which means when an application is accepted into plan review, all reviewing departments will review and either approve the application or send it back to the applicant for corrections. During this stage of review, comments made for correction can be viewed, but documents are not allowed to be updated on the portal. Please log on to the portal for updated review information 24-7. Select the tab that shows RED for items that require correction. When all reviewers are able to review, the applicant will receive an email notice that the application is available for updating with all corrections requested attached to the notice. Please make updates and send the application back to the City for further review. Once all tabs are green, the application will be finalized into PEND status where fees will be accessible for payment.
