Requirements for establishing residential utility services with Washington City:

Please check with the seller or property landlord to coordinate disconnection and connection dates.

Washington City requires a $150 deposit for each metered service (Water and Power). If you are south of the Virgin River (the fields area) the deposit is $150 as Washington City does not provide power to this area. If you are north of the river where we also supply power and the deposit is $300. The deposit will be applied to your account after one year of good payment history or 90 days after the final bill has been paid in full.

Power services in areas south of the Virgin River are provided by Dixie Power. Their address is 145 W. Brigham Road in St George.

If the home you are buying is newly constructed, you will need to request your two garbage containers and one recycling container from Washington County Solid Waste.

If you have prior services with Washington City, any outstanding balance must be paid prior to new services being established at the new location.

Washington City requires 2 business days to transfer services into a new owner.

We accept all major credit cards. Auto payments and online payments are made through Xpress Bill Pay. Return payments are subject to a $25 fee.

Washington City utility bills are due on the 20th of the month.

BluCan schedule is found at blucan.org. BluCans will be picked up every other week on your normal garbage collection day. Missed pick ups need to be reported to Republic Services at (435)628-2821.
