Power Line Safety Tip

As temperatures drop and winter storms blow through, make sure you’re aware of your surroundings whenever venturing outside. It’s not uncommon for heavy winds, snow, and ice to bring down power lines and utility poles. If you come in contact with a downed power line, be sure to stay at least 35 feet back, which is about three car lengths. Do not touch a downed line or anything around it. If there are people around, warn them of the hazard. Call the downed power line in. If you have any questions or concerns you can contact the Power department at (435) 656-6329.
