It Is An Exciting Time For Washington City

2020 what a year!!!! Though the major focus throughout the year was keeping safe and protecting ourselves from the Pandemic, let me share with you a few great things that happened in our city. Several projects were completed in 2020 including; Opening 3 new parks, finished the Main Street project, opened the Merrill Road expansion road, and opened the Washington Parkway connector.

We also welcomed approximately 1500 new residents to our city. Private enterprise has flourished here. We have two Senior  Assistance Living projects nearing completion, two new hotels, convenience stores, restaurants, and expansion of two businesses. Several commercial and residential projects are on tap to begin in 2021. Updates on that later. It is an exciting time for Washington City.

As we move forward to a new year and prepare for what challenges, opportunities, and wonderful things that may happen to us, perhaps we could include the word “Courage” to our vocabulary.

May I encourage you to have the courage to believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you can imagine. Be brave enough to stand for what you believe, even if you stand alone. Ships are safe in the harbor, but we all know that is not what a ship is made for.
