Council Meeting

May 8th, 2019

1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA:

The Washington City Council approved the agenda unanimously with the removal of item 8a.        

2. ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Mayor Neilson wanted to introduce the new Washington City Royalty.  They are as follows:

Sabrina Johanson as Princess, Charley Holt as 1st Attendant, Lesil Swift as 2nd Attendant, and Ashtyn Thayn as Miss Spirit.

Councilman Jeff Turrek wanted to express appreciation for all those who helped with Cotton Days and the IRONMAN pancake breakfast.

3. DECLARATION OF ABSTENTIONS & CONFLICTS:

None declared.

4. CONSENT AGENDA:

The Washington City Council approved the consent agenda as detailed below unanimously.

a. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Consideration to approve the minutes from the City Council Meetings of 4/23/19 and 4/24/19.

b. BOARD AUDIT REPORT:

Consideration to approve the Board Audit Report for April 2019

c. FINAL PLAT:

Consideration to approve the final Plat for Merit Way Commercial Subdivision, located approximately north of Bluff View Townhomes alson Commerce Drive.  Applicant: Development Solutions Group Inc., Brad Petersen

5. POWER BOARD:

a. Consideration for approval of the Mayor’s recommendation to appoint a member to the Power Board.  Mayor Kenneth Neilson. Jon Olson was submitted to be a member and approved unanimously by the Washington City Council.

b. Consideration for approval of the Mayor’s recommendation to appoint a Chairman for the Power Board.  Mayor Kenneth Neilson. Michael Dinsmore was submitted to be the Chairman and approved unanimously by the Washington City Council.

6. PLAT AMENDMENT:

a. Consideration to approve an amendment for the phasing of Brio 3E and 3F, located approximately Vis Modelo, sunshine Way and Rialto Blvd.  Applicant Colewest, Reed Scow. The Washington City Council approved unanimously.

7. BUDGET:

a. Consideration to approve a Resolution accepting the Tentative Budget and setting a Public Hearing date to consider adopting the Final Budget.  City Manager Roger Carter. The Washington City Council approved unanimously and set a Public Hearing date of May 22nd.

8. RESOLUTION:

a. Consideration to approve a Resolution entering into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with Washington County regarding Election Services.  City Recorder Danice Bulloch. Tabled for a future meeting.
