Course Description

Double Dare participants will start their day at Staheli Family Farm between 6:00 am-7:00 am. They will run the Washington City Half Marathon course in reverse and then back again. At the top of the course, DD participants will join the Half Marathon racers at 6300 W on Old Hwy 91 in Hurricane (Half Marathon Starting Line) before beginning their return trip to Staheli Family Farm. In order to complete the dare, DD participants must arrive at the Half Marathon start line by 8:55 am to start their return trip at 9:00 am. All DD participants will have VIP access to an RV (courtesy of Camping World) where they may store their personal belongings. Refreshments will also be provided.

Aid Stations

(The first half of the race will be unsupported.) Aid Station Locations: Aid Stations will be located at approximately miles 3,6,9,11, and 12 of the Half Marathon. Port-a-potties, Water, Gatorade, and Gu will be available at each aid station.

Starting Line Requirements, Check-in, and Self Support

DD participants must be able to support themselves on their first leg to the start line of the Half Marathon. They must also check-in at Staheli Family Farm with a high-visibility reflective vest and headlamp before beginning their first leg. DD participants are responsible for acquiring their own equipment. DD participants without the required equipment will not be allowed to start. Participants may begin their run at Staheli Family Farm any time between 6:00 am and 7:00 am. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST CHECK-IN with the DD volunteer prior to starting. No participants will be allowed to start after 7:00 am. The course from Staheli Family Farm to the start line is open to traffic and NOT maintained by volunteers or aid stations. Participants must be prepared to support themselves.

Clothing Drop

All DD participants will have VIP benefits for the event. There will be two VIP areas for DD participants; one at the Half Marathon start line and one at Staheli Family Farm. These areas will be in the Camping World RV as well as the surrounding area. These areas will be restricted to DD participants and sponsors. Bags will be transported to the start line of the Half Marathon and then back to Staheli Family Farm. DD participants will not begin their return trip to Staheli Family Farm until the official start of the Half Marathon at 9:00 am, so participants should plan to have clothing and other items to help them stay warm after their initial run to the start line.

Participants need to clearly label their bags with their bib numbers. Please AVOID PUTTING ANYTHING OF VALUE IN THESE DROP BAGS (eg. keys, cell phones, expensive clothing, etc), WCCC is not responsible for lost or missing items. Participants should deliver their drop bags to the "clothing drop volunteers" that can be found at both the DD start line and the Half Marathon start line. We do our best to collect, care for and safely transport them to the Half Marathon start line and then back to the finish line as a courtesy to our participants, but cannot guarantee the delivery of the items.

Runners may also drop unwanted clothing at each aid station along the way. Clothing dropped will be transported to the finish line for participants to collect. DO NOT DROP ANYTHING YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT! Any leftover drop bags, found clothing not dropped at an aid station, or unclaimed clothing will be donated to Deseret Industries. Participants will be able to claim their drop bags at the finish line area after the race. Clothing drop bags can be found at Staheli Family Farm and will be placed in the wagon under the pavilion next to the awards stage. In order to claim a bag, participants will need to show their bib number that matches the number written on the drop bag.
