Mayor’s Message

We Have Been Given A Fantastic Gift

AWE THE PEOPLE of the United States. In Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. The Constitution of the United States is the oldest written document still in force today. We have been given a fantastic gift called “Moral Agency”-the power to decide and act for ourselves.

Our constitution guarantees this for all of us and offers several divine principles that I would like to share with you. First; the source of government power comes from the people. We are a government of the people. by the people and for the people. Second; there is a guarantee of the delegation and separation of powers that ensures a government of checks and balances. Third; the implementation of our individual rights and limits on government are established with the Bill of  Rights. Fourth; We are governed by law, not by individuals, thus all persons are equal before the law. Grateful I am to our forefathers who had the vision, courage, and desire to create this outstanding document. As we continue on this journey called life, may I offer this ending thought; ”Real joy comes from righteous character. Built from a pattern of consistent righteous decisions. When the things that you acquire are used as tools to help others, they won’t rule your life. Your righteous decisions determine who you are, and what is important to you.” Continue to make that difference........it’s important to someone.
