The Importance of teh Christmas Season

Christmas can be a highly stressful season, or it can be a season to look forward to all year, depending on how much value an individual places on the original meaning versus modern perspectives. Christmas has many positive effects on individuals and communities, including strengthening relationships through family gatherings, events, traditions, and reconnecting with friends. Christmas promotes a spirit of giving and charity. It’s a time for forgiveness and cherishing what the rest of the year can’t afford us. It’s a time for gratitude, compliments, and reflection on a year well done. Before surrendering to the anxiety and stress of crass commercialism, stop! Contemplate the reason for the season, a gift from someone greater than all of us. It’s better to give than to receive, so give yourself a break; you deserve it! Santa never brought me a G.I. Joe with Kung Fu grip, and I got over it. The common element of the “most wonderful time of the year” is “generosity,” and nowhere is this more evident than here in Washington City. Peace, love, and happiness in your 2025.
