Mayor’s Message

It Is A Wonderful thing When We Meet People Who Are Different

One of the things I enjoy most when I meet  and visit with new people that have moved into our city is that sometimes we have different points of view on certain subjects. I believe it is a wonderful thing when we meet people who are different. They often offer a different perspective, a new viewpoint on life to consider, and could offer advice to inspire you. What would life be if we were all the same? Pretty bland I would guess.Seeing life from an eternal perspective also helps us focus our limited mortal energies on those things that really matter the most. We need to at times to step away from the busyness in our lives to gain back the perspective of what we ought to focus our efforts on.If you struggle with putting things into their proper perspective perhaps answering these two simple questions can help. “What is the worst thing that can happen in the situation you are in?” and “Will it matter in 5 years?”. When you keep things in perspective just remember it’s never quite as good as it seems. And it’s never quite as bad as it seems. Besides, Spring is just around the corner.  Smiles all around................
