Historical Museum

Information & Needs

The Southern Utah Weavers, founded by Sandra Sandberg, have moved in and for patrons of the Washington City Museum, members of the non-profit organization will be there alongside us Monday thru Saturday 10 AM – 2 PM.  Come witness weavers at work on their crafts; carding, spinning & weaving on looms that have thoughtfully been preserved through time having had decades of use at the local college.  Their presence here presents a wonderful opportunity to see the creative process of weavers at work and perhaps even learn the art of weaving. Plans are in the works for adult classes and focused demonstrations. While you’re there visit the museum’s wonderful displays of Washington’s history showcasing pioneer legacies, household items, hand tools, and much more. Immerse yourself in the captivating stories of our past. Please note that the museum is actively seeking authentic local historical items for preservation and display, so if you have any artifacts to contribute we would be delighted to discuss it with you. Additionally, if you’re passionate about history and enjoy engaging with visitors, we invite you to explore volunteering opportunities as a docent for the museum.
