Better & More Productive Going Forward

We have officially closed the book on the year 2020. I recognize all the difficulties, health problems, and loss of life caused by the global pandemic. I’m sure we are all hopeful that 2021 will be a better year than the one we just endured. It is my hope that the change and growth that we gained in the past year will help us be better and more productive going forward to 2021 and beyond. Washington City will continue to work very hard to adjust to the changing landscape and continue to provide essential services in a safe and efficient manner; many of those changes make us better at serving our residents. For instance, in 2021 we are implementing an online system for making a police report that will allow a report to be filed remotely without the assistance of an officer. We are also making technology upgrades to City Hall that will allow residents to view and better participate in public meetings from home without having to attend in person.  My hope is that we will remember 2020 as a difficult year, but also a year of change and growth that propelled us forward towards a better future.
