Our Amazing Youth Council

The Washington City Youth Council is a Youth Service Group created to instruct the youth on how cities operate while providing them opportunities to give service and experience leadership roles. This years Youth Council has some amazing youth. The Youth Council Mayor Carter Libby was elected by the youth and would like to introduce his council, staff, and officers.

Duties are as listed: City Manager Emilie Richardson, Treasurer Savannah Richardson, Council Members Rayne Kenworthy, Colin Burr, Spencer Welch, & Emma Skye Whitney. Communications Isabelle Marsden, Public Relations Ben Smith, Historians Sidney Beecher & Berkley Nisson, City Planner Tasha Cafferety, Service Chair Taylor Hughes, Social Chair Chase Adams & Alexa Hench, Leisure Services Krislain Wilson, Public Safety Benjamin Park, Pine View High School Representatives Emma Ward & Tasha Cafferety, Crimson High School Representatives Ojani (OL) Reynsos & Chase Adams.

Carmen Snow was asked in 2010 to head up the Youth Council, and since that time the youth has made annual trips to the State Capitol, met with the Governor, and learned the Legislative process as well as serving our city at annual events and holidays. Carmen is truly amazing, the kids love her and the parents appreciate her as a great mentor to their children. To me, the most important thing for the youth is the examples that they represent to their peers and the community; which is evident in their drug-free resolution. I appreciate Carmen, The Youth Council, and my opportunity to serve along with them.
