Preserving Tradition Through Community Engagment
Recently, students from Pine View High School attended a city council meeting to advocate for the continuation of the Pine View Parade in Washington City. This long-held tradition brings the community together and celebrates the students, many of whom reside in Washington City. It was inspiring to see young people engage with local government and share their support for a tradition that has a positive impact on the students and the community. I am happy to share that the parade will continue in Washington City. As one of the students said, as we grow as a city, it’s vital to hold onto cherished traditions that bring the community together. I agree with this sentiment. I believe it is important to support traditions and values that bring our community together, honor our heritage, promote freedom, liberty, and patriotism, and uphold our nation’s motto, “In God We Trust,” and constitutional principles. I appreciate the involvement of both the young and old in our community, as it truly makes a difference.
