Free Tax Preparation

Free income tax service for everyone is provided by TAX-AIDE, which is sponsored by AARP and the Internal Revenue Service. Tax returns will be prepared and filed electronically in St. George, Hurricane, Mesquite, and Washington City beginning February 4 until April 15. Tax preparation is for low and middle-income individuals with special attention to elderly taxpayers filing federal and state tax returns. Preparations of tax returns are available at the St. George Senior Center, located at 245 North 200 West, on Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Starting February 5th ending April 12th. Hurricane Senior Center, located at 95 N 300 West will have trained and certified preparers on Wednesdays from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm starting February 6th ending April 10th. Washington City Library located at 220 North 300 East, will have preparers available on Mondays from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm from Feb 4th ending April 15th. Taxpayers who visit these sites should bring their wage and earning statements, (Form W-2) from all employers, Social Security Benefits for 2018 as shown on the 1099-SSA that were sent in the mail plus bring all types of 1099 Forms. Please bring a copy of last year’s 2017 tax return; and any other relevant information about income, deductions, and expenses. Taxpayers will need to show a government photo ID and Social Security Number identification for all individuals on their tax return.
