Updates & Events

This past month the members of the Washington City Youth Council, as well as members of the City Council, had the chance to go up to the State Capitol to visit with Washington County legislators Senator Evan Vickers, Senator Don Ipson, and Representative Walt Brooks during the legislative session! The group also had the chance to meet with Governor Spencer Cox and Lieutenant Governor Diedre Henderson to award Governor Cox with a certificate of appreciation for the legacy he is leaving the youth of Utah. Governor Cox parted with the words, “The future of our state is sitting in the classroom today.” It was a very educational and memorable day, with a massive thank you to Senator Ipson and his intern Jamie Lundberg for helping us plan it! This past month the Washington City Youth Council also volunteered at the Childrens’ Fun Run at the Staheli Family Farm! Applications to the Washington City Youth Council close March 18th! Be sure to fill out an application if you are a Washington City resident in High School you can apply at Washingtoncity.org/yc it is a fantastic experience with lots of opportunities!
