We Serve To Help & We Need You

December is the season for giving. The Washington Lions Club gives a big ROAR of THANKS to members of the community, boys, and leaders of Scout Troop #435, the Lions, and their family members for supporting the Adopt-A-Highway project on November 7. These individuals are proud of our community and want to keep it beautiful and clean so they gave their time and energy to clear the litter from a northern portion of the Washington Parkway. Many large garbage bags were filled and left along the roadway for the Washington Public Works Department to pick up and dispose of properly. Several large pieces of litter and some garbage bags left in the backs of pickup trucks and private cars to be put into home garbage cans. THANK YOU for giving to our community! This will be a reoccurring project, so watch for an invitation to help us in the spring. In the spirit of giving the Washington Lions Club recently made cash donations to Switchpoint, Coins for Kids, and Scout Troop #435. We urge other groups and individuals to support these and similar organizations that make such a difference in the health and wellbeing of our community. Want to be more involved in local service projects? Contact Rick Henrie (801) 361-1651 for information on becoming part of the Washington Lions Club.
