July 10th, 2020 - Toxic Algae Bloom In Virgin River

Washington Utah - July 10, 2020 please be advised that there is a potentially toxic algae bloom taking place on the Virgin River. The public is being advised by the Southwest Utah Health Department to avoid recreation in the water of the Virgin river until further notice. The cyanobacteria, or blue-green algae, can contain toxins that cause damage. This bloom is currently occurring in the north fork of the Virgin River near Zion National Park but effects the water downstream. Read the full press release by clicking here.
