Mayor’s Message

The Strongest People Make Time To Help Others

A couple of nights ago as I was driving down Telegraph Street, I was once again thrilled to see the Christmas Season lights shining brightly against the dark sky. This is what I believe our Americana is all about. Thanks to our city staff for putting on that fantastic display for us to enjoy. When you read this newsletter it will be 2019 and we will have enjoyed the holidays, made New Year’s resolutions, and are hopefully looking forward to wonderful things in this new year. I find that the strongest people make time to help others, even if they are struggling with their own problems. If you are seeking to help people and expecting something in return, you are just doing business, not acting in kindness. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring. All of which have the potential to turn a life around. When you look in the mirror....make sure you like what you see. That’s where making a difference starts.....with you.
