Washington City

Employee of The Year

Bonnie began her employment with Washington City in February of 2008. In July of 2014 she made the move from Public Works to the Building Department. Bonnie brought her organizational and customer service skills with her. She knew a lot of the contractors from her time with Public Works and her previous employment which helped with the transition. Her knowledge of the building process and terminology helped quite a bit as well. Bonnie has a keen eye for detail and organization.

She loves numbers and the stories they can tell. If you need to know something just ask Bonnie and she probably has a spreadsheet for it or she can get you what you want by the end of the day. Bonnie is every bit a team player. She will help out with any task given to her or she can take the lead with any assignment given. There is never a question about it being done.

When Bonnie was home in quarantine with COVID she was still working and finding ways to keep things moving forward. Bonnie is always a positive force and looking for ways to make things run smoothly.

The Building Department has been through some tough times as well as good times. We have seen a lot of things come at us, especially these last few years, and Bonnie has been a big part of making this happen and keep us moving forward.

Bonnie also enjoys camping and hiking. She loves spending time at one of her three favorite camp spots around the area. She will get up in the middle of the night to see if she can make a reservation if someone has canceled theirs. Bonnie also enjoys spending as much time as she can with her granddaughter. She loves showing her off to everyone.

Congratulations to Bonnie Baker - our 2021 Washington City Employee of the Year.
