What’s New In The Department

The Washington City Fire Department is happy to answer a few questions about what is new within the department.

Q: How many apparatus does the FD have?

A: The department is excited to announce that the city has recently added a ladder truck to the joint station with Hurricane Fire. With the rapid community growth and apartment complexes being added, it is important that the FD has the necessary equipment to handle all emergencies including high-rise fires and rescue. Additionally, the department will be adding a new brush truck to station 61 in the near future. Stop by the stations and check them out!

Q: How many stations does the FD have?

A: Washington City Fire Department currently staffs 3 full-time stations. Station 61 is located on Buena Vista Blvd and is staffed with a full-time captain and 2 full-time firefighters 24 hours a day. Station 62 is located on Washington Dam Rd with 2 full-time firefighters 24 hours a day. Station 64 is unique because it serves both Washington and Hurricane communities. Staffed with 2 full-time firefighters from both departments, 64 is located off exit 16 on I-15.
