Department of The Year

The Washington City Power Department is vital to our community providing power to our residents with commitment and excellence. With the restructuring of this department staff has taken on new assignments and responsibilities. Both existing and new employees have come together to meet the challenges of large improvement projects such as the rebuilding of the Staheli Substation, rebuilding and upgrading the Feeders along 100 South, changing out meters and beginning the rebuild of the Kings Row Development. The department has accomplished all of this while seeing a 12% load increase throughout the year setting a new all time peak load on the system. The hard work, pride, quality workmanship, and positive attitude of the men and women of the Power Department have made 2020 a rewarding year for this department who serves our citizens. Washington City recognizes our Power Department as the 2020 Department of the Year.
