Reminder, Ordinance 2024-07 And Reponsible Pet Ownership
Ordinance No. 2024-07 was passed in 2024, introducing important changes for our beloved furry friends. Dogs and cats are allowed in groomed public parks, public squares, playgrounds, trails, athletic fields, courts, pedestrian or bicycle paths, open space, and wilderness areas, as long as they are on a leash no longer than six feet (6’) and under control. Dogs are allowed off-leash only in designated dog parks, such as the one at 450 South 200 E, where your furry companions can roam freely. Important Reminder: The person in control of the dog or cat is responsible for removing the animal’s waste to ensure our parks remain clean and enjoyable for everyone. There are new signage and dog waste stations available in City parks to help with waste removal. Thank you for your cooperation in making Washington City an even better place to live, work, and play!
