Family Leadership Month

 Proclamation

WHEREAS, strong families and healthy child development are the foundation for successful communities and societies; and

WHEREAS, the strength of our community depends on the continued success of our children and youth; and

WHEREAS, each parent is inherently responsible for the raising and educating of their child[ren]; and

WHEREAS, Washington City values and respects the fundamental right and duty of parents to direct the care, upbringing, supervision, and education of their child[ren]; and

WHEREAS, Washington City parents continue to form vital relationships and partnerships with policy makers, leaders, and stakeholders to build stronger and safer communities for children;

THEREFORE, I Mayor Kress Staheli, along with the Washington City Council, do hereby express sincere gratitude for the parental leadership in our community and proclaim February 2023 as

Family Leadership Month 

and call upon all Washington City citizens to recognize and support the vital contributions that parents and families make to our community.
