We Have The Ability To Achieve What We Want

Wait a minute. Our children are back to school already? Where does the time go? Or, maybe you couldn’t wait for your children to get back to school. Still, time just keeps flying by. Do you wonder sometimes if you can ever get control of everything that goes on in your life? I hear all the time; “If I only had more time....” It seems we all experience feelings of helplessness at some point. It never ceases to amaze me how human beings fight through various stages of discouragement and disappointment, with the courage and determination to overcome those challenges they are facing. I have also noticed that those who give up are in the minority. All of us who have overcome such setbacks truly can reach the highest levels of our potential and contribute to the greater good in significant ways. Think about this for a minute. What if we knew exactly what we wanted to achieve, had a plan to achieve it, and never allowed any negative or self-defeating thoughts to block us, allowing us to achieve our objectives? We all have that ability to achieve whatever we desire in this life. We do this by learning to accept what we have control over and what we don’t. Once we understand what is our responsibility and what isn’t, then we are able to channel all our energy into those things we have direct responsibility over and not waste energy on those things we don’t or can’t control. Our time on this earth is short. Let’s do all we can to make those significant differences in the lives of those who mean the most to us........ Mayor Kenny
