Council’s Corner

Help Others and Preserver Our Small-Town Atmosphere

Hello, my Washington City friends, I hope all is well with you. Twenty five years ago, I was working two jobs and had an assignment at my local church congregation that was taking nearly all my free time. My normally well-kept yard was struggling and becoming overgrown with weeds because I just couldn’t get to it. One summer evening, a group of neighbors got together and pulled all the weeds in my front yard. I was so grateful and touched by their kindness. Last week a neighbor on my street began a small landscaping project in the corner of his yard. Soon one of my other neighbors joined in to help. They quickly got it done together and it looks fabulous. I love the concept of neighbors looking out for neighbors and helping each other when needed. Washington City is growing and one of our goals as a city council is to preserve our small-town atmosphere. As we move into this new year, please make a goal to get to know your neighbors. Take a look around, and if you see a need, jump in and help. As a council, we love Washington City and its residents. We hope you have a spectacular new year. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please email anyone on the city council. We are here to represent you and to help in any way that we can. Wishing you all the best in this new year.
