$1,000 Scholarship

Attention high school seniors! The Washington City Lions Club will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship for the 2022-23 academic year at Dixie State/Utah Tech! The Deadline is April 30! Students must be a Washington City resident and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applications are available at the Financial Aid and Scholarship office in the Holland Building on the DSU campus or online financialaid.dixie.edu/scholarships/community-scholarships. To apply for the scholarship students must fill out an application, supply an unofficial transcript, and submit a 250-word essay on how the Lions Club’s mission of Community Service applies to them. Required items must be received by April 30, 2022, and can be submitted in person or mailed to:  DSU Scholarship Office, Holland Centennial Commons, 225 South University Ave., St. George, UT 84770. Ever since Helen Keller inspired us to champion the cause in 1925 the Lions Club has served and advocated for the blind and visually impaired. Nearly a century later this long-standing mission continues unhindered and will be put into action Thursday evening, May 12. Service-minded individuals and/or prospective Lions Club members are invited to help clean and label donated eyeglasses for reuse while enjoying a BBQ starting at 6:30 P.M. at the historic Relief Society Building, 100 W Telegraph St.
