Mayor’s Message

Take The Higher Road in Life

My first year as your Mayor I wrote in one of my newsletters about playing basketball with a couple of different groups of men.  Husbands and fathers who are working hard to provide for their families, and others working hard to be of influence to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  We are still playing and it has been an honor to associate with both groups.  A shout out to all of you who are trying your best to be of influence, be a good example to others, and make a difference.

Gets me to thinking about how important it is in life to take the higher road when it comes to being of good influence to yourself, your family and others. It has been said “To live greatly we must develop the capacity to face trouble with courage, disappointment with cheerfulness and triumph with humility.” When we take the high road in any situation we face we see things that other people can’t. The high road is always respected. Let’s all pray for the strength to walk the high road, which at times may be lonely, but which will lead to peace, happiness and joy supernal.

It is after all, your choice.......................
