3650 South Extension and SR-7 Interchange

Scope & Purpose

This project is part of a larger project referenced in the City’s latest Transportation Master Plan - 3650 South from Western City Limit to Southern Corridor. 3650 South is a minor arterial road serving the growing residential area of Washington Fields. This project will link the Washington Fields area with the Southern Corridor.

Project Description

The project includes roadway construction and associated improvements on 3650 South from the current eastern limit of 3650 S. (end of Majestic Hills Subdivision) to the proposed interchange on SR-7. This project also includes the interchange with SR-7.

Construction Completion for Interchange: July 2024

Construction is underway for the roadway, and the construction engineer has been selected for the interchange on SR7.

Updates

3/6/2023 - Construction has started with the sewer lines being installed. The subgrade for the roadway has been prepped. For your safety, be sure to follow all road closure signs.

3/14/2023 - Installation of the 42 inch storm drain has started this week. The sewer installation is 75% completed. Water line will be installed after the storm drain.

3/27/2023 - Sewer is now complete. Storm drain pipe is 75% complete and water line installation has started. Project is at 30% completion.

4/2/2023 - Storm drain pipe is 90% completed. Water line installation has started and the contractor has completed 25% of it. The roadway construction will start when the water line is complete.

4/13/2023 - Water line installation is completed. Roadway preparation will start next week with curb, gutter, and sidewalk to follow.

4/19/2023 - Underground gas and power are being installed now. Then the road base will begin to be hauled in, while they do curb, gutter, and sidewalk.

5/4/2023 - The plans for the interchange are complete. The project is anticipated to advertise from the middle of May to the middle of June. Construction would most likely start the middle of July and take approximately one year to complete. Anticipated completion would be July 2024.

5/9/23 Road base is being placed and curb gutter and sidewalk will follow next week. Anticipated completion by the end of the month.

6/5/23 Road work is complete. The contractor is finishing up minor items to complete the project.
