Sandia Road / 2000 South Road Reconstruct

Project will reconstruct Sandia Road/2000 South from 20 East to Merrill Road. The planned work is for the contractor to remove 17 inches of material from the road, install a woven fabric and then 12 inches of road base, and then five inches of asphalt. Washington City personnel will prep for the contractor by trimming vegetation as needed.

Update 10/1/2024 - At this time the City expects work to begin October 21st (after the reconstruction on 200 South from Washington Fields Rd to 20 E is complete). There will be traffic boards up warning of the start date several days before work begins. The intention (barring unforeseen circumstances) is to keep 2 lanes of travel open, and to keep sidewalks open as well as the school crossing. Work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
