Home Security Tips to prevent outsiders from knowing the who, what, where, when, why, and how about you and your children. One of the best ways for people to find out about you in a very personal way is to go through your garbage. Most people do not even consider this an option, however, it is real. It will tell such things as what you eat, where you get it from, when you get it, your recycling habits, your favorite dog food, the general age of those who live in the home and unfortunately all your personal information.

The garbage and recycling containers are not the places to put documents, statements, tax information, credit card receipts, pay stubs or anything else that contains your personal information. Criminals are not above going through the containers. They do this on a regular basis to seek out this information about you and the members of your household. This helps in their attempts to burglarize, still your identity to commit fraudulent acts or physically harm you or your children Shredding is the best practice to help avoid making it easy for them.  Shred everything that contains personal information, it may take a few extra minutes, the time will be well spent. Unfortunately in this day and age, there are those among us who have negative motives. We have to do everything we can, not to provide the opportunity for these situations to happen to us.  After all, we want or children to enjoy the quality of life that we all prefer.  Let’s all do our part and continue our efforts in making our communities a safe place to live and recreate, maintain or enhance our quality of life.
