Curriculum

The Washington City Community Center Preschool is proud of the strong academic curriculum incorporated each day.

The students are welcomed into a warm and inviting classroom atmosphere where they ease into the day with a short activity to help strengthen their fine motor skills.

The students then gather for a 30 minute academic circle time. This is meant to help them acclimate to the classrooms they will be in later in their academic career. During circle time we will learn a letter, number, color and shape each week. We will also introduce, through songs and games, the days of the week, months of the year and weather.

Students will continue to grow as they complete a worksheet that reinforces what they learned during circle time.

We are very enthusiastic about our themed curriculum that we learn during our second hour of class. Each month we will focus on a different themes that delves into the world around us. Through interactive lessons, hands on learning, science experiments, dramatic play, and daily crafts we will learn about subjects like;

  • Community Helpers
  • Dinosaurs
  • Ocean Animals
  • Feelings, and Families
  • My Five Senses
  • Insects and Reptiles
  • Living vs non-Living
  • And much more
