Thank you for visiting the Washington City Fire Department website.

The Fire Department was Established in 1972 with a single brush truck and 14 volunteers.  Washington City FD has grown into a career department consisting of 21 full-time firefighters and 31 part-time firefighters. Our highest priority is serving our citizens and their guests by providing fire protection and emergency medical services. We currently hold an Advanced Emergency Medical Service license and are a non-transporting agency.

Our response area is one of the fastest growing cities in the country; with a population of 8,500 back in 2000 to our current population approaching 35,000 residents. Our coverage area consists of approximately 50 square miles of mixed terrain including residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and a section of major interstate.

Please take a moment to browse the website to learn more about your Fire Department. Washington City's Fire Department accepts station tours between 8:00am and 4:30pm Monday-Thursday, to arrange a tour please contact the main station.
