"Making a difference in ourselves and our community"

Thank you for visiting the Washington City Fire Department website.

The Washington City Fire Department (WCFD) was established in 1972 with a single brush truck and 14 volunteers. Over time, the Fire Department has grown into a career department consisting of 21 full-time firefighters, 31 part-time firefighters, and 3 administrative staff. Our highest priority is to serve Washington City citizens and their guests by providing fire protection and emergency medical services. We currently hold an Advanced Emergency Medical Service license and are a non-transporting agency.

The WCFD response area is one of the fastest growing cities in the country, with a population that has grown from 8,500 residents in 2000 to our current population approaching 35,000. The WCFD coverage area consists of approximately 50 square miles of mixed terrain, including residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and a section of major interstate.

Thank you for your interest in learning more about your Fire Department. WCFD accepts station tours Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm. To arrange a tour, please contact the main station.
