Merit Badge Classes

The WCCC allows groups to utilize the pool for Scout training.

The following classes are available:

Swimming Merit Badge

Lifesaving Merit Badge

First Aid Merit Badge

Climbing Merit Badge


Groups may contact the Aquatics Office at 435-656-6357 or email Matt Ruegner at to schedule a time for the group to attend.

DROP-IN SCOUT GROUPS: Want to do the training on your own? Groups may come in on their own by contacting the aquatics office. Generally, times will only be available on Saturdays during the school year due to other programming.

2nd Class Requirements and/or BSA Swim Test: These can be arranged and scheduled upon individual request with the aquatics office.


$5 per scout for instructor led classes, $3 per scout per scoutmaster led classes


  • Scouts will also need to provide their own swimming suits and towels and a dry pair of clothing to wear home.
  • All scouts participating in the swimming and lifesaving merit badges need to be strong swimmers in order to complete the merit badge.
  • Scouts should bring their own blue cards with their information filled out to sign-off the merit badge.
  • Scouts (or Troops) must PRE-REGISTER WITH PAYMENT.
