Join the Lions Club this 4th of July at Veterans Park for a full day of community, celebration, and service. Festivities begin with a delicious breakfast at 7 AM, with proceeds supporting Lions Club programs. Stick around for family-friendly activities, lunch, and a community auction later in the day.
At 9 AM, take part in a special Welcome Home celebration and statue unveiling honoring Quentin Alexander Nisson, created by artist Jerry Anderson. Known as “Mr. Washington,” Quentin was a World War II veteran, former mayor, and owner of the Merc on Main and Telegraph. His efforts shaped the city, from improving parks and streets to starting cherished traditions like Movies in the Park and downtown Christmas music.
This Lions Club event is free to the public, with food available for purchase by cash or Venmo. Bring your family, your memories, and help celebrate the legacy of a true Washington City icon.
